My wife just called and said that a certain radio personage of conservative bent had just announced on his show that the NRA has signed up 100,000 new members in the last 18 days. Just thought y'all might like to know.

I sent them (and ILA) some donations. I think I'll join the second amendment foundation. They have been responsible for much of the legal stuff, I think.

Wasn't it around 6 million during the Clinton ban?

That's excellent to hear! I was already a member but glad there are more of us. I've been donating to the NRA-ILA fund on a regular basis now. I can't imagine life anymore without making a donation as part of my regular routine. We can't slip back into complacency!

Just signed up my kids, dad (not even an owner), my FIL, and MIL. Ten Marines from my shop listened to me and joined too. Doing my part. Best I can do.

Keep it up! The media tries to vilify the NRA with derisive terms like "gun lobby", etc. It's made up of US! Every time the media tries to marginalize that organization, they marginalize US. The more that join, the more that lie becomes obvious.

That is nice to hear. I've managed to get my FIL and my Mom signed up, too. They're just as annoyed at the buffoons in DC and tell me that they now feel as if they have a voice, too.

I started paying the $25 monthly payments to go from a regular member to a life member. It's all I can afford right now but once I'm a life member they will still get a monthly donation :)

I 'm one of them too.
I joined the NRA, the Gun Owners of America, and Georgia Gun Owners.
I 'm joining the 2nd Amendment Foundation next.
Then I'm send more to NRA-ILA.

The opposition is probably around 4 million too. The battle will be decided in the 290 million in the middle. Please keep that in mind when you go "public". We don't want to look like "extremists" to the general public. Just say'n.....

^^ thank you.

I just joined (reluctantly, however) too. Fellow members who talk about how our elected representatives want to put us in camps and kill us does not serve our cause... I read recently of a person who was advocating "hunting down" people he thought were traitors or enemies of the constitution. That's not how civilized people behave, and sounds pretty crazy to me and probably to many both within and outside the gun owning community. just sayin'... some of y'all may not think you are sounding like extremists, but many of you most definitely do, except in your own minds. We all need to think a little bit honestly about where others are coming from and how we look to them. It is the best way for us to know their actual motives and not the motives that we might ascribe to them in a moment of fear or paranoia. The opposition isn't trying to put us in bondage, they are doing what they mistakenly think is right. I disagree strongly with them, as I don't think it is right to take away or restrict a person's means to self defense, but I don't doubt that they feel like they are trying to push for something productive.

We need to keep fighting the good fight, taking the high road, and present the facts, while appealing to the better natures (and emotions) of our friends, neighbors, and fellow citizens.

There are those on the extreme right and there are those on the extreme left. They tend to cancel the crazy out of one another. This fight will be decided by those closest to the middle. Yes, there are those that consider us "terrorists" by being members of the NRA. They would be just fine with the "from my cold dead hands" concept.

This is amazing! I confess I had let my membership lapsed but renewed about a month ago. I'm trying to get others to join so we'll see.
