I closed a deal on a new, to me, Ithaca SXS 20ga. This little double was made in the late thirties. I won't be able to pick it up for a few weeks, since the dealer is about 400 miles away, but I sure can't wait to get it. The barrels are 28 inches, and choked IC and Mod. Double triggers, auto ejectors. The wood is beautifully patterned Walnut, and there is factory engraving. The condition is about 90& +, and the bores are bright and shiny. Price was $650.

As I am sure you made sure it's tight- congratulations! Great grouse gun you got there! Early season pheasants too? Does it "fit" you :) ?

Drool, covet,covet.....

Please let us know how it shoots for you, and post some pics. Thanks....

There aren't many grouse in Miami, but it will work equally well for quail or Sporting Clays. If you want to bring it to South Carolina, I'll be happy to take you to the Clays course. Of course, I might have to shoot a station or two with it.......

That gun sounds like a real treasure! Congrats.

Sounds like a great gun. I just picked up a 16 ga. Ithaca Field Grade with 26" barrels Mod/Full which I thougt was odd, also it has a straight grip stock (been restocked). Probably will reblue and recase this summer, right now gonna shoot it. Serial No. range is 254xxx, will have to figure out year.
