Picked up this little beauty yesterday...a Para-Ordnance LTC, their version of a Commander. (CMDR and LTC are both O-5 pay grades.)

Like a Commander, this one has an alloy frame and a 4 1/4" barrel. Few manufacturers make true Commander-length guns, Kimber and Springfield's Commander types all have 4" bull barrels.

Unlike a Commander, this one has a ramped barrel, which is a very nice thing to have in a gun with an alloy frame.

Oh, and the new Power Extractor is something not found in a Colt Commander, either.

Shoots nice, puts 'em where you point the gun, and carries well. I've only had the chance to run a few magazines through it so far, but it's been 100%, with FMJ and Golden Sabers alike. Ejection is quite brisk; the gun throws the brass high and to the right rear.

The new Paras come in a cool new green case that looks like it ought to hold a power tool. The gun comes with three factory mags, and they even included a bushing wrench and a set of slotted grip screws for those who prefer slotted over hex head.

I'm usually not too wild about two-tone looks, but this one's OK.

Price was $599, and I think you get a lot of gun for the money with this one.

Greeting's Marko-

Very attractive firearm Sir! I too have been lurking after a new
Para 1911 SSP .45 ACP. Its the full size version, with the new
power extractor. I just hope Para has all the old problems that
got 'em in deep do-do corrected? Enjoy~

Best Wishes,

I ordered a para s16 limited yesterday and the shop said it only comes with one mag so I ordered up 3 more. I'll be pleasantly surprised if it comes with 3, even if they are 10 rounders, which I suspect.
