.20 bore for .177 pellets and such. Should be some good smallbore fun

Ps not my cat, original owner, mine would require Valium to sit that still

Jr salvo has passed sadly. There are some floating around. He was known for making the small ones

Looks great! I have to know how you clean it? My .32 caliber Pennsylvania is hard enough to clean.

Lock, stock and barrel all made by salvo. He had coined it the "ultimate squirrel rifle". Maybe it was the pinnacle of his work? It is very light, perfect balance and weight. It is a smoothbore. Last owner had seen it years ago at a show and eventually aquired it/sold it for his widow. Either 177 pellet or patch a .177 lead ball (yes they exist) with a few grains of 4 as charge and in pan. Will provide range report.

Very cool. I'd like to know how it performs with fouling...i'm guessing not many shots between cleaning the bore. I have an RWS34 barrel lying around i was thinking i could make into a BP rifle, but figured that the fouling and the light round would make it dirty and inaccurate; your smooth bore might alleviate that though.

I would like to have a 22c bp rifle myself I bet that would be a squirrel killer! I wonder if anyone has built one in flintlock with 22c barrel??

I swab between shots anyway as I am a bench gun guy. I probably will keep doing the same.

As an avid airgunner,I love that thing!!!
What a truly great rifle

Hope to take it out tomorrow. Balance is awesome and light. I have had some small bore stuff before but they had to much steel for the hole=heavy. This barrel was done well. Bit over .5" and Gun is maybe 6lbs, points like a dream

.20 bore. Instead of going with .177 w patch I went with .22 pellet in this style. The steel BB aids in penetration. Not sure of weight.

I shot everything at 25yrds. I used 10g 4f. I did not shoot for accuracy today but I had no issue hitting the 2x4 at 25, first shot. 20160423_142540_zpsks7muxmf.jpg
Easily but snugly thumb seats. No patch needed. The skirt catches the minimal fouling from the last shot, scraping its way down and providing a flame buffer. 20160423_142835_zpsrmximlv6.jpg
Entrance, 3/4 pressure treated ply

Dug a hole to see how deep. 20160423_144246_zpskexv2mv4.jpg
Distance through the pressure treated 2x4. Almost through

Even damage to my steel knockdown. Plenty of energy

Dang but that little-bitty bore has some punch to it.:D

We will be interested in your reports as to its accuracy.

That beauty won't send you to the poorhouse feeding it powder and ball, either.:D

Kinda nice, whole kit is a 4" patch, some pellets , an empty 22wmr case for measure and a pan charger with 4f in it (about the size of a lighter). All fits in a shirt pocket (not that i would put the pan charger there.)Great for the minimalist in me when walking in the woods.
