I recently purchased a Ishapore No. 2A MKIII in 7.62x51. Is there a place online where I could purchase additional 12 round magazines for it? I saw on the Numrich site where I could purchase 10 rounds but no 12 rounders.

Additionally any additional parts, add-ons, etc. that are recommended please feel free to chime in with. This will be the first of many firearms purchased with my brand spanking new C&R.

Thanks everyone!

I'm not 100% sure on 2A rifles, but enfield magazines aren't meant to be changed, but to be loaded with chargers while in the rifle. Like I said though, 2As might be different.

thanks cracked. I thought that to be the case but "heard" otherwise. I suppose that's why I wasn't able to find them on the web to begin with. Thanks again!

As for another question is there an "easy" way to mount a scope on these rifles? What I mean is a way to do it without altering the rifle? I don't want to bubba up the weapon, just curious if there was a decent scope mount, etc. that would work.

CATCO makes a no-drill scope mount for the ishapore. I found it on EBAY. It actually locks up pretty good. Nothing like drill and tap, but if you dont want to alter the rifle, thats the way to go. ATI makes one also, but I dont have any experience with it.

Scope mount

Im not sure but i think i may have found a scope mount from ATI through Cabella's (Cabellas.com) and an additional stock, also from ATI. I called them about the .303 2A monte carlo stocks they have, and the guy i talked to said that it would work with the .308 conversion rifles. if any one knows for sure if these stocks will fit, let me know.

Pat,

I have the ATI Stock. It is great. It fits pefectly. I picked mine up on ebay for $50. Well worth it. They also have the ATI mounts on there as well. I have not tried them, but if they are anything like the CATCO I have, then it really depends on the fit and finish of the rifle. I have two Ishy's and The mount locks up great on one, but is loose on the other. For the purposes of not wrecking a collectible surple rifle, they are definately the way to go. It will make for a good hunting setup, but dont expect sub moa. Hope that helps.

Also the Ishy's are not conversions. They were built as 7.62 NATO. The conversions were actually No4 Mk1 or 2's that were converted to NATO for rifle competition. None exist on the civilian market that I know of, only in museums.
