I have been reading the forum for a long time due to an upcoming move to a more free state. That being said I will be able to purchase more than my 12 gauges. I have mostly all the info needed on handguns and rifles. I will be purchasing an AK-47 as my first centerfire rifle and feel it's a good all around gun. Money is a massive concern having just built my new house. I will be getting a WASR-10 and realize there are three differences on this model than a more expensive one. It's fit and finish will be worse but I can redo that. I however would like info on the canted front sites and gas block. I have read the recent thread on how to fix it but would anyone be able to tell me when in the shop how to check for these problems so I don't need to worry about this. Pics on a proper or canted sights and gasblock would be very helpful. Thank you in advance. I have come to realize this site is a wealth of information and appreciate all your help.

The problems with the WASRs are far less than they appear.

It is human nature to grind 'bad news' into the ground, mix it with water to revive it, and grind it some more.

Good news, however, rarely gets a blink of acknowledgment.

Keep in mind, that on quantities of scale, the WASRs have no problems at all (they have been, by far, the most imported rifle of this type into the country for years now).

I have a WASR-10,-2 and -3 and haven't had any of these problems. They are quite functional rifles.

This was what I figured. It was just a concern because if I got a bad one I would be tapped with no money left for repairs. It's good to know it's not as large an issue as reported. Know I can ensure it when selecting.
