New Range Fountain, CO

The Cheyenne Mountain Shooting Complex opens tomorrow. It's located just off I-25 on exit 132, just south of Fountain, between the highway and gate 20 at Fort Carson. It's supposed to be the largest public shooting range in the state, according to the paper, and they have free shooting tomorrow between 1:30 and 4:00. Since it's on Army property, and is supposed to be run by the MWR folks on post, maybe it won't get trashed and closed like a lot of public ranges. If I can get off work early I might go check it out; if anyone else goes in the next couple of days can you post a review for everyone?

When I'm visiting Colorado Springs, that looks like a close place to practice.

When I lived in Colorado Springs we used to drive up past Woodland Park and find the range above Garden of the Gods, or shoot in the woods up there.
We always packed trash away- some people don't seem to care.
A range near Fountain will be more convenient.
