A true representation of a Remington New Model Police in .36 caliber, not just a shortened barrel NMA bored to .36 caliber.

Like Eastwood had in Pale Rider

The one that looks like the pocket .31 ,but with a trigger gaurd? Way cool! I've been thinking of trying to make an approximation useing the 1863 pocket ,and a Spiller and Burr trigger gaurd...but the real deal would be much better!

A luger in .45 ACP have been considering building one for years. Never have had the intestinal fortitude to actually go into production.

''A Tranter or Adams revolver...of extremely high quality...''
THIS'LL make you sick. I saw one overseas,in the '70's before black powder had really resurged, for FIFTY BUCKS! Not for sure which model, but it was about a five inch barrel,.36-.38 caliber, five shot, with the odd sideways-flapping- loading lever thing.it was in a wooden case, with an empty tin of caps, and a old bullet mold,in an antique shop.

Actually there were a few manufactured during the U.S. Trials of 1908-1910 by Luger in .45 caliber but we did not like the submittance of a foreign weapon in U.S. Soldier hands "or something like that."

''BHP,I actually got to handle a Trainter revolver.A percussion that had two triggers, one to cock and one to fire ;in our neck of the woods...''

Jefferson, where in the heck did you run into that?!

Tommygunn, that is a real Remington New Model Police in .36 caliber with the short 3.5" barrel, they were 5 shot .36 caliber revolvers initially in percussion but some were converted to fire .38 caliber cartridges.

I'd like to see a quality whitney revolver replica (I hear the palmetto one is atrocious).

I see Whitey's on GB now and then. I think two or three companies have made them.

Is that one of them New fangled Catridge Lemats?

Yes Sir! Using the latest in pin fire technology.

I WANT that Baby Lemat!

I think I would sell a gun to get one if they made a repro. I could sell all my guns and not afford the original.

They made a LeMat carbine to. That's another I would buy in a heart beat.

I actually own two Adams and three Tranter revolvers. I like them...but am unwilling to shoot them much due to the lack of spares. Spares for an original Remington are easy to get. Spares for a Tranter? Not so much.

Which is why I'd like to see a high-quality repro. Emphasis on high quality.

Scaled-down and modernized Paterson-pattern revolver converted to shoot 5 or six rounds of .22 mag... engraved like the pic of the Paterson that was on here earlier.

That, and a 8- or 9- shot 1851 Navy in .22 LR.

As know as I know the only two replicas made of the Whitney were the Spiller&Burr by the C.S.A. and Palmetto, which is said that their Whitney repro was one of the better made replicas in the industry.
Not saying that their Roots guns were all that great nor Walkers...put their Whitney's have been praised.

SG

SG,I've heard conflicting things about Palmetto Arms QC. My only direct experience is a Zouve musket I had a few years back, and it was ''eh'' ...blond unidentified hardwood, markings half-struck...but it always went ''bang''.
