I have decided to build a rifle. I am going to start with a FN PBR in .308, I can get it for a good price and it seems like good jumping off point. I am looking for advice on the scope. I am leaning towards the Nikon 6.5x20 Monarch UCC Illuminated mil dot. I have years of experience with Nikon camera lenses and know the quality of Nikon glass. I have also researched the benefits of a fixed magnification scope but I am leaning towards a varible power. Based on just starting out is there any benefit of fixed versus Variable or vice versa. The range I will be shooting has a 200 to 500 rifle ranges so those are the distances i will be shooting. Any guidance or recommendations will be appreciated.
