was just wondering which would be the most fun.

depends on what you in particular find to be "fun" really.

Some get the most enjoyment out of making the smallest groups they can, and do not in any way judge a range trip by the volume of ammo that they expend.
others get the most pleasure from "shooting mass quantities of ammo", or shooting at cheap sometimes random targets, preferably ones that "react well" and provide instant feedback (The most common Definition of "plinking").

if whatyou want is a plinker, to be honest the 700 isn't the best bet, a 5 round capacity isn't all that great for plinking. the Mini-14 is what you'd be happiest with.

But if what you want is accuracy, both on the range and on the hunting field, the 700 is the way to go.

Remington or smith, Rugers just plain suck, or atleast they used to. not at all accurate and only sometimes reliable.

The mini 14 got its bad rep because they used to have thin barrels that made them inaccurate. The only hi-cap mags that were available were after market which often caused the mini to jam but not due to the mini. The minis are incredibly reliable with factory 5s, 20s and 30s and are plenty accurate enough with the new barrels.

the 700 action is so extremely versitile!!! you can do anything with it and rest assured that it will shoot.
One of the guys i shoot with shoots a R5 for prone competition. He shoots the action out off the box no modifications. At one prone match he shot a 600-42x out of a possible 600-60. This was also done at 600 yards.
just get the 700

I have plenty of Rugers that are accurate and reliable. Oh wait, I forgot, my two mini's aren't accurate. Though, they are extremely reliable.
