Finally received my 308 kimber. I put a 3x9 ultralight on it and have worked up some loads with varget and rl15. Bullets are 150 ttsx. I am very pleased with the rifle. The factory muzzle brake takes some of the snappiness out of so light of a firearm. I am averaging 2940 with 47g of rl15 so am not giving up much velocity over my magnum rifles. The only bad thing is it makes my other guns seem so heavy in comparison. It is really easy to shoot accurately offhand.

Those mountain ascent rifles are really nice. Great choice of rifle and bullet.

Very nice rifle! A bolt-gun in .308 is the perfect hunting choice and is capable of being utilized IF the S ever H's TF!

is the stock dipped or how was the design applied.
I am considering getting mine dipped.

What I found suprising was the left and right shots were varget loads at 2650 fps and the one between those two shots was the rl 15 at 2940 fps. I would have expected point of impact to change more than that?

Very nice rifle. Also, very nice group for such a light rifle. Is that an offhand group
? Thank you sir. 100 yds at range bench and gripped firmly...I wish I could shoot a group like that offhand. I was hitting a 9 inch plate consistently offhand at 150 yds with the rifle which is good enough to get my elk in the woods. ha

I do not know. It is the factory finish that Kimber puts on. It feels kind of rubber like...easy to grip. I have a Montana in same caliber and it has the rough finished grey stock. Different way to get to the same place I suppose.
