this is now sitting on my desk :)

scale.jpg

It's an Acculab VIC-123, which can measure up to 120 grams, with a readability of 0.001 grams (~0.15 grains)...

I believe it cost the company about $350...

Of course I couldn't resist checking my little $19 Lee Safety Scale against this new one at work. So I weighed a penny at 38.3 grains and a dime at 35 grains on the Acculab scale and took them home.

I've always liked the little Lee scale... but I have to admit that I was surprised by the results, as both coins measured EXACTLY the same at home on my reloading desk.

not bad for $19 ;)

and now I have a scale at work to weigh my cast bullets, since the Lee Scale only goes up to 100 grains.

O happy day! :):)

OMG Those inexpensive LEE Products actually do work good?

I've claimed for a long time all Lee lacked was bragging rights. Giving all of us that buy Lee fantasic value for money spent.

Now check out one of the inexpensive electronic scales against the companies scale.

Read about two chapters in MODERN RELOADING by Richard Lee, and you'll find out that Lee does not lack anything in the bragging rights department!

Just what do you expect the man to say? Go out and buy ____________"insert Lyman, RCBE, Dillion," or any of the higher priced brands.

You know I've never walked into McDonalds and saw a sign telling me I should go to Burger King and buy their burgers.

Mr Lee is a little over the top in some of his claims. Not knocking Lee stuff, ya'll know better. Just sayin', Mr Lee has a vivid imagination. I bet he sold used cars at some point in time. :D

Should be 0.015 grains, right?

awe, what's an order of magnitude between friends :)

I stand corrected.

and now I understand what the AccuLab scale flutters +/- 3 or 4 thousandths of a gram...

that's only a few hundredths of a grain!

just breathing near the thing sets it a moving...

I don't get why the manual says that the hinged plastic lid is not supposed to be down when weighing samples. I would think that that is what it's there for. It even has a ~1" hole in it, centered over the pan
