I just picked up a new copy of the Shooting Times special edition rag off the magazine rack at the store. It's titled "Tactical Shotgun". It has several good articles but I wish they hadn't put a photo of a Mossberg "Chainsaw" on the cover.
The point is to sell shotguns - and magazines - to folks who are attracted by such gizmos. If that approach didn't work they wouldn't be using it as a marketing ploy.
Such things ultimately say as much about the purchasers as they do the sellers IMHO... as they used to say in the sporting goods business back when dinosaurs roamed the earth, "Most fishing lures are designed to catch fishermen, not fish."
As much as Mossberg has done for the gun community, I would not mind seeing them close shop just because of the abominations they have unleashed on all those poor fellows. I think PT Barnum may work for them.
