I handled one today and was very impressed. I don't think the barrel needs to be ported, but the occluded eye sight system is impressive and the ergonomics and trigger pull were wonderful. I can see how it would be a steep learning curve for folks that haven't seen anything like it, but I've been running a Colt New Agent with a trough sight for over a year and had the opportunity to shoot the venerable "trench sight" S&W so I can "see" how this may work.

I'm going to have to shoot one now that I've handled it.

Be careful.
One of my rules is never be an alpha tester of a new model.
Remember the Solo disaster?
Plus the price usually is higher in the first year than year two.

Before they ship gun number one, they get the gun rags and writers to write glowing article and tests.
Created demand I think the Madison Ave guys call it.

I think if you are used to a shotgun bead the learning curve may not be that bad. But for many, it will require re-training away from concepts that center on FRONT SIGHT acquisition. May be a cool idea, but may also be the odd nail sticking up in the board.

But I detest the porting. It’s a 9mm, after all, and I can’t see how a reasonably capable shooter would benefit from it. I think it’s a gimmick that will be more trouble than it’s worth in extra cleaning.

I handled one but decided to go for one of the other P365 varieties.
