the other day i posted about an sks i was buying, and i picked it up today. it is a norinco 7.62 x 39 sporter in original wood stock with all numbers matching except the trigger guard. i got the gun for 150 and 300 rounds of wolf ammo for 50.

I have a Norinco from way back when they first hit the shelves. Paid about $100 from Rose's Dept. Store in NC. Came with numerous accessories as I recall. I replaced the spike with a blade bayonet and the original 10 round magazine to a fixed 20 round magazine. Very sweet! I can't believe what the prices are now!

Is that the one that takes AK mags?

If so, you stole it!

:D

If not, still a GREAT deal!!!!!

Here is a picture of my new rifle. It came with the 30 rd magazine but I am going to replace it with the original b/c as I understand it the gun, as I got it, is not in compiance with 922r. Can I change anything on this rifle and still be in compliance? Mainly the only thing I want to do is put a scope mount on it.

acmax95,
Looks like you have a very nice later model, 80 ish. with stamped
trigger group. Sell the 30 round mag and go with the original 10
rounder, they go for $20 to $ 30.
Post a close up pic. of the left side of the receiver markings/numbers and a pic.
of the front of receiver/barrel.

That's a pretty sweet deal! The SKS is where I got my start with working on guns. Now it has spread to include surplus rifles of all types and I love it! I have three SKS's now. A Yugo and two Chinese. I started with a clapped out Yugo and Bubba'd it with the Tapco Compliance kit. The Tapco stuff was good quality, and got the already out of compliance rifle legal again but I traded for an original one. Check out www.sksboards.com Pretty good info there.
