1. Do you think mine will loosen up and the slide start locking back or off to Springfield ?
2. As a matter of referrence in total I put maybe close to 200 rounds thru....should I give it the benefit of the doubt and run a few hundred more rounds thru?
3. It's spot-on accurate BTW. I really like this pistol a lot and will not sell it...

Congrats, and my apologies, as I just ran across your post today..

1. Yes, without doubt, but you can try a few more things..

2. Yes, within the next 200 -300 rounds

3. Oh yes they are, and I wouldn't sell her until the last step fails after she comes back from the factory..

But, with a serial number in the 5000, I would think only two things may need a little addressing, more.

First, get some "Flitz" gun polish, as it works on most anything, any color, and going by the instructions, use just a little. But I did a tiny clean-up job on my feed ramp, even though it appeared clean, it brought out some black on the Q-tip I swirled it on with, and using the other end, went straight up and down to wipe it clean (that is were the black came up) and no feed issues with 500 rounds with just light cleaning with EEZOX and bore snake.

Make sure that the extractor hook has no build up, or particles, caught in it, clean and free of anything..

The only thing I make sure is before I head out is that I do an oil application via the "Vertical method" with slide locked open and let it run down the rails, then using a Q-tip with gun oil on it, swipe the exterior of the barrel and guide rod.. They like to run WET..

You may also want to use the EEZOX to clean and bond to the insides of your mag walls, along with coating the mag spring as well and check for any burs, as if any, a Q-tip will snag on them, and you can remove them accordingly..

Curious, did these jams, occur with all 3 new mags, or possibly just one?

As far as bullets fully chambering, that too, can be part of the break-in before the seating becomes complete.. around 400 rounds..

Good new ammo such as Winchester wb 115gr is good ammo IMO, as mine has some 1400 flawless rounds with that kind, along with 124gr JHP's by Federal Premium hydra shoks .

If, after these approaches, you still have feed problems or failure to completely chamber, then after 400 rounds/500 max, I would call SA, they are very nice and accommodating and they will take care of it quickly..

Lonestar49, Thank you and sorry I didn't see your reply sooner. Tomorrow I plan on getting to the range to run approx 2-300 rounds of WWB thru and see if any of the issues go away. Actually, just the one issue is a problem and that is of course the slide not locking back. I'll certainly be mindful of any of the three mags that continue to not lock back the slide as you know this issue might not be feedramp relaqted and could just be a problem with the mags. I originally planned to ship the pistolback to Springfield to have the front strap checkered and the relaibility pkg done and in doing so any problems can be corrected at that time if still necessary. After tomorrows range session if I have similiar problems I'll ring up Springfield and see what they recommend...Thanks so much for your reply and helpful suggestions

Sounds like mine, I sent mine in to SA, they reamed the barrel so it would load, they reworked the slide and frame fit so I can disassemble it, now it worked nicely and I can take it apart without any effort. You should send yours in and describe your problems to them. Mine works flawlessly now, I think SA did a very poor job on QC, a gun this price should work like your mother's sewing machine out of the factory.

I had an opportunity to fire an EMP9 that a woman brought in to a Basic Handgun class a couple months ago. It was the nicest shooting pistol of the bunch that were there. Recoil/muzzle rise was hardly noticeable--I think in large part because of the heavy bull barrel that was as thick as my thumb for only a 9mm. very very nice, but pricey and I heard they were on allocation.
