Just picked up my new Tisas 1911 Duty 9mm B9 today.
Racks super smoothly, A plus finish on it but the trigger feels a little sticky so I'll have to open er up, clean and fluff & buff. I'll also have to file down the back edge of the right hand G10 grip I bought for it due to the fact the pistol is an ambi-safety.

I bought its sibling.
No issues except occasional leaving case in chamber. I tweaked the extractor tension. It’s all good now.
I put a Kensight adjustable rear sight on it. It shoots 2” at 25yds with accurate ammo. Trigger is 4.5lb with a slight creep. Not worth messing with! Feeds everything I’ve fed it. With every magazine I’ve tried. RN, SWC, FN, JHP.

IT’S A KEEPER!

Now, If primers will come back down to reasonable…

Nice! I like the sights and beavertail. The sights in particular make a world of difference over GI sights. Good choice. My 9mm 1911 has become one of my most-fired handguns slowly over time.

I kinda wish they had gone with the GI sights on the Tank Commanders. I have one in 45 (thinking about getting one in 9mm), and I actually prefer the GI type on the basic models. A dab of orange nail polish on the front sight of the GI sights, and they work great. And my eyes arent the greatest anymore.

Now, if they had either thinned the front sight, or opened up the back, or both, I might have a different opinion on things. Something like the factory High Power fixed sights would be perfect. Seems like they followed Glocks specs on the widths of the sights, and they kinda suck for anything but slow fire type shooting, and arent really all that great there either.

I have one of those, and one of the Service Models, both in 9mm. I like them, especially since I seem to have the Service gun working now.

My "plain Jane" is an RIA in .45 that I'm in the process of modding including a new finish. The RIA factory finish kinda sucks.
The Tisas finish “kinda sucks” as well but it harkens back to the original government issue. I feel a kinship with Sargent York and Mike Hammer.

If Tisas had parkerized them, they would be pretty much spot on. Seems they chose Ceracote instead. Noting wrong with that i guess, they got the color about right anyway. We'll just have to see how well it holds up. Which so far, seems to be doing pretty good.

Did the fluff & buff on the duty pistol and no more sticky trigger. upload_2023-4-25_10-24-18.gif
Mostly removed the finish on the trigger bow, polished the flat on the disconnector and did a general clean & lube. Used a 400 grit sandpaper then polished with a Dremel buffing wheel and micro fiber cloth. Everything on it now runs smooth as silk.

polish the trigger bow. Make it shine like a mirror. I did that and it helped
