New-to-me 1187, looking for new barrel

I recently inherited my father's old 11-87 and the majority of the barrel has some pretty serious rust underneath the vent. I'm planning on replacing it with a new hunting barrel, nothing difficult there, but also grabbing a shorter (18-20in) barrel for HD purposes.

Problem is that I can't find a single source online that sells 11-87 barrels anything shorter than 21 inches! I've checked literally everywhere, tried calling Remington (they were closed when I called ) and I just can't come up with anything. Does anyone know where I could get one at a reasonable price and quality? OEM isn't very important, I'm just looking for something like what the 1187P has.

Remington lists 4 of them at either 18" or 18.5" in their parts list. Prices from $130 to $164.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I cannot find anything on Remingtons website shorter than 21" for the 11-87. Nor have I ever seen one on a gun. A word of caution. Remington barrels shorter than 26" are not designed for low powered ammo. They will only function with 2 3/4" or 3" magnum loads.

Virginian, do you think you could provide me with a link or somewhere I can order one from? I still can't find anything.

I know what you mean jmr, I can't find squat on the website or any other site for that matter. And the 18 incher will be strictly for HD purposes, so I'd most likely just be running full power 2 3/4" 00 through it.

No problem, glad to help. If you look under the Extra Barrels there are not as many choices as the parts list. While they may not have all of them all the time, they have a lot.

Virginian, are you looking at the 11-87 or the 870. I still cannot find anything that short for the 11-87. Plus those prices you quoted seem about right for the 870 and too cheap to be for an 11-87.
