I went to the LGS to trade... I think it was my spare Kel-Tec P3AT... towards a very nice Llama revolver the owner had.

Well, I was a day late and a dollar short. He chuckled gleefully when I asked for it: He'd sold it the day before. I was a very sad panda. Then he said, "Well, do you have a 45acp Charter Arms Pit Bull?" The trigger was nice and it was pretty new, so it went home with me. Yeah, he knows what I like.

I took it to the range a couple of days later and shot a few cylinders through it. It shot fine, but after firing 15 rounds, the cylinder would no longer swing open. I emailed Charter Arms. They were very nice. I shipped it to them, and they fixed it for free and shipped it back to me. I'll find out tomorrow morning if it's fixed or not.

The trigger is nice. The little spring-loaded thingies that hold the shells are a clever idea. I already had the 44 special version. They feel about the same, though maybe the 45 has a tiny bit more recoil. Neither one of them has recoil that bothers me, but the 44 made my tender-handed friend whine recently, so maybe he will shed a tear when he shoots the 45. :)

great gun, I've had one for about a year and fired about 100 rounds thru it. shoots nice but need to polish the sharp edges around it. has a good kick but able to handle it with this soon to be 69 yro body. enjoy it and keep on shooting.:D

i had a charter arms 9mm revolver and quickly moved it on, way too raw and unfinished in feel. i prefer ruger blackhawk convertibles for 45acp and 9mm.

I *almost* bought one of these myself back in the Spring time, but CA finally came out with the 45 Colt version, which I bought right away.
So far, quite happy with the revolver and having fun working out loads with it. The 45 Colt version seems to have the sights regulated also for a ~230gn projectile like the 45ACP.

I have had mine over a yr now. I made the choice over the bulldog because of ammo availability issues, and the fact that I have 2 1911's already. the ballistics are almost similar and 45 ACP can be found everywhere. Added some laser grips and a better nightstand gun is hard to find.

That's a good looking beast of a gun. I'll have to take another look at Charter Arms again since Shelton Ct. is only 1/2 hour from my home. It would be real easy to drive down there and not have to ship if I had a problem.
