New To Me P229 DAK

Hey guys,
I just purchased a used P229 DAK 357 SIG from a local gun shop. It is in 90-95% condition with night sights. I got her for $425.00. I will take it to the range today and fire a box or two of ammo. I couldn`t pass up this pistol at this price, i`ve always wanted a 229 but couldn`t swing the $800+ price. I plan on using it for ccw once i get used to it and find more practice and carry ammo. If possible, could anyone here tell me where online to purchase 357 sig ammo at he best price? My local gun shops have it but their prices are too high, ($29.00 per 50 FMJ). Any help will greatly appreciated,Thanks.

That's a tough one. .357SIG will always be at a premium just because it is a less common caliber. Having said that, I have found a wide spread in prices. As a side note, you might find that getting a .40S&W barrel for your Sig to be a good investment. Uses the same mags as the .357Sig cartridge.

Thanks RDF for the reply. I`ve considerd getting a 40 barrel but the SIG site says they are out of stock. Any idea where i can get a 40 barrel for a decent price?

try brownells.com or midwayusa.com, look under the parts for your gun, they may have one. Could also go aftermarket with a Bar Sto available on one of these sights or from Bar Sto's site. EFK Firedragon is also excellent, I have experience with their stuff and it is great. They can be had from efkfiredragon.com or some other places on the web.
