I have a GP100 MC and I absolutely love it. I have added Hoque grip and replaced the front sight with a Novak brass bead front sight. I'll have to do another thread after I take it to the range again. The trigger was strange and I short-stroked it a couple of times, which is something I never do.

After I finally paid attention, I realized that the gap between the trigger parts and the frame looked a bit too wide. I took the grips off and gently tapped the trigger parts into their proper position with a rubber mallet. Now the trigger feels just fine. No one noticed at the LGS, either, so I don't feel as dumb as I probably should.

FWIW, Hickock 45 has a video on the Match Champion. He likes it but he tends to like a lot of revolvers. I have an SP 101 in 4.2" and put similar MC style Pach grips on it since I'm not thrilled with the stock ones. I really like it and find the trigger smooth. No complaints.

I am a GP100 fan, so I will throw in my 2 cents.

I currently own 5 GP100's. Four are standard GP's and one is a Match Champion. While I am completely fine with a stock GP, I like to disassemble my GP's and polish the internals to smooth them up a bit. Having done the 4 standard GP's first, I can honestly say that Ruger did a great job on the Match Champion. Once fully disassembled, I found that most of the parts I work on were polished to a better standard than my other 4 GP's. The one area that needed attention on the Match Champion was the trigger link plunger channel. I have found that polishing this area really helps with the trigger pull. The hammer shims do more than just smooth the trigger pull, they center the hammer in the frame and prevent hammer drag. I was torn about these and almost pulled them out, but they do work and the hammer on my Match Champion has minimal drag marks compared to my other GP's.

I also recently added a Novak elevation adjustable rear sight to my Match Champion. It looks the same externally, but allows for adjustments in point of impact with different bullets weights. I don't have a lot of time on it right now, but initial impression is very positive.

I think you got a great gun that will serve you well for years to come! All of mine have been accurate, bomb proof, and a joy to shoot.

FWIW, Hickock 45 has a video on the Match Champion.

Basically, I thought his review sucked. He didn't pan the gun.
But neither did he mention its features, particularly its DA
trigger. In fact, he shot it mostly SA.

He really is a generalist when it comes to reviews.
Mostly he is just shilling for Buds Guns.

The more I watched him the more I came to
dislike his reviews.

This is what I have found over time. He's likeable, but not very informative
