Recently acquired a S&W mod 60 in .38 special. SS thru out with s/n R63264.
Can anyone tell me how to find the approx mfg date from this info ??

Welcome to THR . At the top of the revolver forum section there is a sticky for the DOB for S&W revolvers. If no one gets back to you here in the general revolver area try posting your question there.

According to the "Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson", your gun's serial number is from the 1970-1973 time frame.
