Hi All. My name's Adam, and currently living in New Hampshire. This is my first time posting on THR. I've read quite a few forum posts and decided it was time to sign up.

I recently traded in my H-K USP Compact .45 and a Remington Model 700 .243 Rifle for a S&W M&P 360 with a 3" barrel.

I decided to go with the 3" barrel instead of the 1.875" barrel because I shoot better with a 3" or 4" barrel.

Other Revolvers I use to own include Ruger SP101 .357 Mag., Ruger Redhawk .45 Colt DA/SA, and S&W Model 60. I've owned more Semi-Autos but I actually prefer a Revolver more then a Semi-Auto.

The M&P 360, is my CCW, but I also do some target practice with it, too. I do have another handgun, which is a Springfield XD-45 4" but I've had it customized by Springfield Custom (3-4 lbs competition trigger, match grade barrel, and Xtremflauge Slide Finish). I don't carry the XD around because of the light trigger pull and the fact that it's not easy to conceal.

I hope to learn new stuff and what not, from THR.

Here's are some Pictures of the M&P 360, with one next to my Spyderco Street Beat Knife, and a Picture of my XD-45.

Adam, welcome to the forum and,,,,,, since you got the 360 in a 3 inch, watch out for the topstrap stainless protector on the topstrap before the barrel. you should have kept the Ruger SP101. Why????? I rather have steel than scanduim material firearms. One isnt the cost but,if you should loose the topstrap protector, you have to send the gun back to Smith-wesson for repairs with a note on what kind of ammo you used in it.DO NOT USE ANY TYPE OF RELOADS. USE FACTORY AMMUNITION. Smit&wesson is having some troubles with the scanduim frame again because of not setting up the mim computer right[machinery]. So,Adam,BE CAREFULL WITH IT EVEN WHEN YOU SHOOT FACTORY AMMO IN IT AND GIVE US A REPORT ON THE TEST FIRING OF THE 360 S&W.

Welcome and be sure and give a full report. I'm neither here nor there on the Sc frames. I have a buddy who bought a 340 and loves it. Shoot it and make your own judgement. The only negative I have heard is light weight bullets jumping crimp in the Ti cylinders.

Nice gun! Although, I wouldn't trade a USP for it, unless I absolutely had to have something for concealment (which is how the P7 got here).

Enjoy it!

Congrats on your new gun. Great purchase. As you can tell from my mane I shoot a 340pd. I have had no problems whatsoever with my scandium firearm. It is absolutely my first choice in a carry gun. I hope you enjoy your new gun. It looks like a beauty.

looking for a 3" 360 myself now. carry a MP340 24/7 and often either a 2" Jframe or 4"Lframe on the belt. had considered the 1 7/8" 360 as a trail gun since light but still could do single action. saw the 3" and seems like an ideal backpacking piece.

plus for ccw similar weight to my 340 but more barrel to get a bit more speed when not needing to carry in a pocket.
