Picked this up today at my LGS. They never have one in stock when I go in there so I jumped on this one. The wife really likes it too. I might lose it her when she starts shooting but that is okay with me.

Its tiny, very concealable, and the ergonomics are great (for me). I found the laser button very easy to press unlike what I have seen people post. The manual safety and slide release are easier to manipulate than on the LC9 I checked out. This could have just been me though.

I might change the sights to three-dot and add a thicker rubber grip. This will likely be a pocket holster carry since it basically disappears but I might get a IWB holster also. I can't wait to take this out and run some rounds through it!

I've tried telling my wife she needs to carry something larger,
"Honey? You should really carry my Keltec P11 for your safety.
That thing is just too small for you."

I think she realizes that I'd rather stick the BG in my pocket. Yeah, I like that little pistol.
It's scary accurate, even without the laser!

After a few range rentals, I picked up a BG .380 this morning from Gander Mountain for $329. They also had an extra Mag available which I scooped up. I really like this gun. I put 105 rounds through it today - perfect performance. Laser is easily activated, gun is amazingly accurate.

I also put 50 rounds through my SW M&P 40C and I really enjoyed shooting the BG easily as much as the M&P.

Very happy. Laser is very well set outta the box.

My gun was test fired Oct. 18th and the serial number starts with EAX.

Any recommendations for holsters for the BG .380? I bought a nice little leather multi-purpose (iwb/owb) but it occasionally turns on the laser while holstered...

Imagine I'll be chewing up batteries fairly quickly due to this...

I think the wife just uses a small Uncle Mike's. It's fabric with a plastic clip. Been trying to teach her to carry on her body, but she insists on sticking it in that black hole that she calls a purse.

I carry one every day in a Don Hume IWB holster, it has a recessed spot for the laser button to sit in. I love this gun, hasn't failed yet and I've put it through about 500 rounds. The laser has not turned on accidentally in the holster.

I carry my S&W BG380 in this holster which is very well made by Pepi @ Kusiak Leather. God Bless :)

I will say that this Bodyguard .380 really fits right in the pocket very nicely without a holster - easy to forget its there. I also shifted my holster to about 4 O'clock and its barely noticeable. I have soft pocket-holster from a .38, but its a bit too bulky for this .380...

I really wanted to like the Ruger LCP .380. At 9 ounces, its hard to argue the conceilability of the Ruger.

I shot the Ruger 3 different times at the range before I bought the Bodyguard. Moved my finger around to try and find the sweet spot on the trigger, but regardless of where along my index finger I squeezed the trigger, it never felt right and in fact began to kind of pinch my finger after a few rounds. By round 50 each time at the range, I really grew quite tired of shooting it!

The first time I shot the Bodyguard I immediately noticed that it felt much larger than just 2 ounces heavier than the LCP. In my opinion, the Bodyguard had much better controllability than the LCP - and at 7 yards, I could group 6 within an area the size of a credit card (and I'm a very average shooter from an accuracy perspective).

Other things I like:

- Slide locks open on last round
- Carry it locked and loaded (via Safety) - something I don't do on my M&P.40
- Laser is an interesting bonus - but I found that 90% of my range shooting has been done without the laser.
- Ergonomically, it feels like a mini-M&P, so I guess thats only a benefit if you have a larger M&P as well.
- The LONG trigger pull is pretty smooth and consistent - subjective opinion.
- It just feels better in my grip than the LCP
- And finally, I can squeeze off 100 rounds on the Bodyguard without any hand-fatigue (something I could never do with the LCP - just found it too painful after 20-30 or so rounds). I really wanted a gun that I'd shoot a lot. I wanted to grow very familiar and comfortable with the feel of the gun, just so I wasn't suprised with how it might work when needed for self-defense. I think that kind of thing comes with good range time and practice. In other words, I didn't want the only time I would shoot the LCP during a self-defense occurence.

Again, I'm not an LCP hater. I seriously considered the LCP, shot 150 rounds through it, and even carried a friends of mine around for a few days, but just never fell in love with it like I did the Bodyguard .380.

All that said, I've only put 105 rounds through this particuar Bodyguard .380 (Blazer FMJ 95 gr.) - but so far, its shot perfectly without a hiccup.

I bought a LCP with lasermax a couple of weeks ago. Personally, I liked the BG380 better, with it having the last shot hold open, and the way it felt in my hand. I picked up a couple at the gun show where I bought my LCP, tried out the laser buttons (what I had read was a usual issue with them), and found both to still have button issues, more predominately on the left side than the right.

If I ever find one that works like I feel it should, I'll get it. I just like it better overall. In the mean time, I'm trying to get used to the LCP. After shooting some more yesterday, I notice after a few shots, its kind of putting the hurt in my hand where my thumb wraps around. Time will tell if I adjust to it.

I love mine as well - it's my pocket gun. It goes right in my front pocket - often without a holster. It's smaller than my wallet.

I haven't shot a Ruger - but I checked them out before I bought the BG380.

The reasons I went with the BG380 over the Ruger were:

- it fit better in my hand.
- it has a safety.
- it has a slide that stays open after the last round is fired.
- it has a stock laser sight.
- it has vastly superior iron sights IMO...the sights on the Ruger were all but invisible to my eyes.

I've put a good 500 rounds through it and the only problems I had were some failures to fire with Privi Partizan ammo. Hard primers I guess...but they did fire on the second, third or even fourth trigger strike ...

which brings me to the other reason I preferred the S&W BG380 over the Ruger:

- it has second strike capabilities.

I have tried my friends BG 380 and found it to be surprisingly easy to use, with a fairly light and smooth DA trigger. Accuracy at 15 yards is also very good for such a small pistol. The safety was stiff and difficult to activate at first, but has improved with increased use. Only problem he has had with it has been with the laser. Seems it would move around within the frame, causing its POA to shift. He tried various things like adding shims but it just wouldn't stay in place. Finally he called S&W and they replaced the laser module with one that fit correctly and there have been no problems with it since. All in all a very nice CCW piece that more than lives up to its name.

Went with Gunfit yesterday to pick mine up and I am still shocked I found one locally as this has to be one of the most popular pistols on the market right now. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but will give a range report when I do. This little pistol really feels good in your hand given its small size and will disappear in any pocket. I ordered a recluse holster today for it as this will be my pocket/BUG gun.

Here is a picture of the Mr. and Mrs....

Congrats!

I am glad you were able to find the Body Guard around here. I lucked out when I got mine. I will also post a report once I fire off the rounds in the picture below. I also added a pic of my Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Mine is a serial EAX.

Nice gun. S&W makes very nice firearms. I own an M&P 45c and it has been flawless, with over 4000 rounds down the pipe. Hope it treats you.

I almost bought one a few weeks ago, but went with he LCP instead. From what I hear, you can't go wrong with the bodyguard. I know one thing, I love my LCP!!!!!
