Just picked up a DDM4V11
https://danieldefense.com/firearms/daniel-defense-m4-carbine-v11.html

Feels great, it is super light with a long rail, I cannot wait to shoot it, it might have to wait until august though.

I will put my aim point on it eventually, after 100-200rds through it to break it in and validate function. it will become my "bump in the night" gun if I want that over my glock.

what sort of BUIS do you have good experience with? weight savings is important, as is a healthy balance of quality vs expense. I don't plan on carrying this rifle into Mogadishu or anything so I don't need BIUS to be bomb proof, but they should survive normal use that might include some hunting and carbine courses

I plan on doing a little bit of accuracy testing this fall with it with some match grade ammo and a high power scope, i will give a report once complete.

thanks

I really like Troy sights (Troy hiring practices yadda yadda, blah blah). I slapped a KNS slim front sight in my Troy set and at 100m, its easy to slap a 8" steel plate standing freehand.

I've got a set of DD fixed sights on a rifle. They're very nice and yield an excellent sight picture. With an H1 between them I can simply tilt my head down for irons or use the dot alone in the upper half of the Aimpoint.

Nice rifle BTW!

DD sights arent really buis though, they are primary sights. Buis kinda implies folding.

Just speaking for me here, but no rail-mounted front sight would be part of my primary sighting system, so they're certainly backups for me. OP said he was going to stick an Aimpoint on it, and DD's or other fixed sights are what I use with Aimpoints. Just prefer fixed sights.

But for folding, Magpul or KAC are my preference.
