Picked up an old Western Field Model XNH-560-8A(AKA, Nobel Model 60) in 16Ga with an adjustable choke on Friday night at a local gun shop. Its a pretty nice gun, handles well, and real easy on the shoulder(This is relative of course, my other shotguns are single shots. Even my 20Ga is rough on the shoulder). I managed to put half a box of shells through it yesterday and I think it was money well spent.

Those old pumps with the polychokes are memory trips for me. :D XLint find, and in 16 gauge, too, another memory trip.

Now, I got a clay thrower from Walmart that tosses 'em pretty well for me for only 25 bucks. It was Winchester branded. You should upgrade. :D I pull the string myself. Don't think I could throw that clay and shoot it too. I'm no Tom Knapp...rest his sole.

Looks like a Savage 67 with a Xxx on choke. Solid guns. Enjoy.

That's a great find! I'd like to know how much you shelled out for that, if it's not too forward of me.

Sorry for the late replies. Thanks all. Gotta love the classics. I am really looking forward to hunting with this gun. Gonna go out after some pigeons with it this weekend. Should do well enough.

How many of those clays did you hit with that 1/2 box of 16ga. shells?
I hit about 7 out of the 10 I shot at. My cousin took the other shots and dusted each one. I really need to work on my shotgunning skills.

$125. Not too shabby, IMHO. Especially because the gun shop I went to before that one was asking $320 used for a gun that sells for $280 new. Some people, right?

Please don't call it a toy. It's a finely machined and finished tool and should be referred to as such.

Ok. kept a straight face long enough. :) Nice gun. The first shotgun I shot was a bolt-action 16 gauge with an adjustable choke of some sort. It's still floating around the family somewhere. I wish I could find it.
