The company is called Iver Johnson Arms, although they have no connection to the old Iver Johnson company except for the name and the design of the firearms - namely the M1 carbine.

Here is a link to their website.

Anyway, on one of their pages, they said they will offer various 1911 models. All completely made in the U.S.A. with dealer price of $500 starting.

That is awfully low, and I hope the quality doesn't suffer, but if it doesn't, it would make a good alternative to the other entry-level 1911s out there - RIA, Charles Daly, Taurus, etc.

Here is the page for their .45 1911 offerings.

Pros:
100% made in the U.S.A.
100% made to original mil spec

Cons:
Small startup company with questionable warranty/longevity
At that price point, probably cast frames, and lots of MIM
