just got a new, used .58 zouave made by armi jager italy, in just about new con. price was very good,i just could not refuse. i had a navy arms zouave years ago and it was a ex mini rifle, i only hope this jager is as good. eastbank.
here are more pic,s of the jager zouave, is the jager as good as the navy arms zouave? i think my navy zouave was made by antonio zollie. i still have the mini ball molds so i will have to start casting. eastbank. ps please disreguard the feet.
One suggestion I would make is to make a little flash guard to put over the nipple to prevent gas cutting of the stock right behind the nipple. You can tell a Zouave has been shot a lot by how much wood has been scorched behind the nipple. I took a thin sheet of aluminum and cut a long oval of metal with a square hole to fit snugly over the nipple. The thin aluminum can be shaped so the hammer doesn't hit it. I've also used thin rubber (inner tube) to protect the wood. That way the gun can be shot extensively and as long as you take good care of the bore it will look as good as new for years.
