I ytaded in my delta elite this morning for a brand new 686. For once I went normal...standard caliber, standard barrel length, nothing crazy or abnormal. I already have about 3000 loaded rounds and a pile of reloading supplies so she will be broken in right in the next few days. Will post pics of the families later...3rd 357, 3rd s&w. The 686 joins a 15" but line and TC contender in 357 and shares a s&w shield with a safety hammerless 38 from day 1 of production of 4th models and a 30-1 3". Now it's time to break her in. Pics when I'm back to wifi.

I got a 686+ about a month ago. One of the best purchases I have ever made. I have shot the crud out of it since I got it. The more ya shoot it, the better it gets.

I had a 686 with no dash.
I never shot it much, maybe a couple hundred rounds total so I gave it to my son for Christmas 2 years ago.
If I had sold it I would have regretted it but since I gave it to my son I'm OK with it.

.357 family

TC contender hotshot 10" barrel
Armi Jager (EMF) 15" buntline special
Smith 686-6 4"

Smith and Wesson family

Safety hammerless 38, 200th gun built of 4th model.
30-1 3" this gun is a tack driver, even with fixed gutter sights
686-6 4" a gun I have wanted for about 15 years now but have always settled for something else.

In all her glory. New in box, showcase special. It has a faint turn line already but I'm not even remotely concerned about that. I got this gun to use, it will have s pronounced turn line soon.

Nice man. Yeah a gun with a turn line is just a loved gun IMO.

Nice S&W family photo; especially with three generations being well represented.

We've had a 686-4 6" for years - Very accurate - think I bought it at a pawn shop 20+ years ago.

- it's the wife's favorite to shoot and she does really well with it.

She also reloads her own ammo - gotta train 'em right ;)
