I might be the last one to know this, but Winchester updated their website to include several new takedown models of their '94 lever action line, and an even shorter Trapper model, apparently geared towards kids (shorter LOP).

That take down timber scout (the one you have pictured) is pretty nice. Seems to have what a lot of posters here have done to their lever rifles, ghost ring sites, scout scope mount and nice checkered stocks to boot.

I wonder what the real world price on these will be? MSRP for that take down scout was close to $700. Seems pretty hefty for a lever.

What were the supposed advantages of the Marlin vs the Winchester again?

I with they made a short Trapper like that!

I wonder about putting the rear sight on the receiver rather than the barrel on a takedown gun.

Still, I want one!

I know winchester sold and then was going to make no more model 94s, but then there was some talk that maybe they would.

Anyways, or either ways, winchester introduced the takedown at the 2006 shot show iirc (or reintroduced rather) but these links no longer point to products, and while winchester does have some info on their winchester 94s due to many still being on dealer shelves I don't see any info on the takedown still there. Did many takedowns actually make it out of factory doors?

Just FYI I spoke with Winchester Customer Service today. I was told that the Timber Scout was shipped from 5-2005 to 1-2006 and that was all. I was also told that with about a year they will begin making 94's and 70's again but the 94's might be manufactured in their Japanese plant not USA

Model 94 from 1963

I fell into a deal last winter. A guy I knew needed $$$$$. He sold me a WINCHESTER 94in 30.30 serial # dates to 1963. Oh-yeah - the price, $30
