That bird is definitely a nice looking gob, but it just doesn't look all that big in the picture. I've killed some that were more than 10 lbs. lighter, and they looked much larger, not only in body size, but the tail, beards, and spurs were better.

One that my wife killed I had called in for her was only 23 lbs., but the tail was much larger, spurs were 1.5", beard was 11 3/8". I'm not knocking his WW bird, just saying that it doesn't look like a 37 + lb. bird.

I agree. My biggest (my first actually) was 18 pounds with a much nicer fan, but my bird didn't even have a hard spot on his legs, let alone spurs.

I killed a 12 lb. jake last season that had an 8" beard, no spurs, only nubs, very small head, poorly defined nodes, and no waddle to speak of.

I also killed a 14 lb. mature bird that had large well defined nodes, nice long beard, over an inch spurs, good long hairy waddle, and a small head and fan. He was either very under nourished, very old, or just a small gob.
