So I have a Springfield armory National Match w/22inch barrel coming. I would like to build this into a nice custom piece and would like to do it right the first time ( within reason :) ). I am looking at two stocks right now .

1. JAE 100 Gen 3
2 Sage M14ALCS/CV CQB

First question does anybody know the actual weight of these stocks? I know it can very by how much stuff I add but for this question just assume basic stock for a start.

I read that they should both shoot about the same accuracy. Do you folks agree?

In the case of either any thought on what scope mount to use also check rests and butt plates?

How difficult is the sage to install the barrel and action? Does it require a gunsmith?

I really like the looks of the JAE and it seems well engineered but It looks like it may be a beast

Thanks in advance for any help

Just curious, why would you use a National Match rifle to refit with a new stock?? You could have bought a M1a loaded with a NM barrel and used the savings to buy a new Sage, or other stock.

My only experience is with the Troy stocks with the M1a. Great stock, but a bear to carry.

I would also check over at the M14 forums as those guys live and breathe M14s and Civilian clones.

The answer to your question is I have family members that own a gun store and i got a really good price maybe not as cheap as your suggestion but I am reasonably certain i will not lose any money if I decide to sell. As to the M14 forum I have been looking for but seem to have trouble finding it navigating on the web site
