Newbie Getting into USPSA-IPSC

All good advice here. My Production rig consists of:

1. XD-9 Service (In retrospect, I should have bought a Tactical but it is very accurate)
2. Five Springer mags for above
3. Bladetech DOH (I started with an Uncle Mikes but this makes it easier to access the pistol during the draw)
4. Two Kydex Fobus double mag pouches
5. A CR Speed two-piece belt

This last item cost about $55 and is one of the best investments I've ever made. The big advantage is that you mount the holster and mag holders on the outer belt and leave them there when you remove it. That way you always have them in the same positon and don't have to reinstall them every time you shoot. You can use it for any Division and both USPSA and IDPA. It is way better than anything you can find at Wally World.

Joined USPSA on 4/1/06, date of my first match.

If I stick with this, I am sure I'll get the CR Speed Belt.

First I want to get a few more matches under my belt (Walmart):p

I went to my first USPSA match 2 weeks ago, and it was quite an experience. But I went with someone who was more experienced, and learned to take it slow and become faster through being smooth.

Check this thread out on SIGForum. Its a great thread on getting started in USPSA/IDPA/IPSC. The thread originator was the one that showed me the ropes of USPSA :)

Good luck!
