Newbie needs some oddball guidance!

So I have been wanting to reload for a while now, mostly have not had the means to do so. I was visiting with my mom the other day and she mentioned her dad used to reload and she had all his stuff. She gave it to me and now I am wondering if it can be used to reload, mostly shooting .380 right now, but will move up to 9mm or .40 soon. Ive attached a lot of pics, if there is a pic of the box then its full. On a side note : Is any of this stuff worth anything? It also seems most of this stuff was purchased late 60's early 70's.

Awesome find! Heck yea, you can most, if not all of it. The most questionable piece would be the powder, but if it was kept dry and cool there's a good chance you can use it. I understand it turns rusty red when it "ages out" and smells acidic, but others can tell you more about that.

That Lyman press is the biggie find. I know you're proud of that. I have an old CH that's modeled on that same design and it works great. No matter how long you stay in reloading, no matter how advanced your next press is, you'll need a single station press just like that on a regular basis. Just oil it up with some penetrant to get it moving, and then lube regularly with 1 or 2 drops of synthetic motor oil.

The Lyman powder dispenser is a find too. A little more complicated to get working smoothly since you don't want to use oil, but well worth the effort. Once you get it apart there are any number of "dry lubricants" that will not interfere with the powder. I believe the #55 operating instructions can be had off the Lyman web site.

PS.
On the press, the 2 ears near the threads that aren't doing anything hold the primer feed system. This will drop primers into the swinging primer feed ram that's already on the press. I bet you can still get that from Lyman.
