To install a set of Trak-Lok ghost rings from Wilson Combat/Scattergun? Is this a gunsmith thing, because my local shop won't do it or is this something that I could do? I am a bit handy with tools, but have limited knowledge of my brand new 870. I did however change most of the stock items out for newer items i.e Surefire Fore end, pistol grip stock(heck I even drilled a sling mount in my 'stock' stock and sent it off to Mr. Adams). And how about that Jumbo Head Safety, that seems pretty simple and forward.
Thanks a bunch, really glad to be a part of the 870 family:D

Well the jumbo saftey is very easy. Just involves removing a pin and there is a spring and detent involved. In regards to the sights. I have them on 3 different guns and mmc on another. I had them all installed. I am guesising a little drilling and tapping is involved. I am not sure how the front sight is installed as the barrel is very thin.

Enjoy your new 870. Before getting into all those mods/addons,I suggest shooting it considerably. After running a few cases of shells through it, you'll have a better idea of what will help performance and what just WalletVacs your discretionary income.

Big head safeties are easier to put on or off. They're also easier to knock on or off inadverdently. And the standard one is not hard to operate in a flash.

As for those sights, I suggest having a decent smith do them. Front sights on shotguns besides plain beads tend to be both screwed on and silver soldered, and it's easy to mess up the latter, I'm told.

:D Roger That D.M. Will spend a few more days on the range with duty loads before I really decide on what to do. Thanks for you input!
