I found an 870P with lots of work done, and it's almost exactly how I want to build mine. I can't decide if I should drop $600 on this one, or buy a stock 870P for $350-$400 and build my own. Here are the specs:

Sure Fire Tac Light/Fore-End
18" barrel
Parkerized Finish
Speedfeed Stock
Sling/Shell holder
Extended 'Jumbo' (Wilson Combat)Safety Button
Side Saddle Shell holder
Wilson Combat Scattergun Sight

He wants $600 for it, plus I'll have to pay shipping and the FFL fee.

For less than that you can buy a genuine 870P Police gun with almost all the same accessories......NEW.

http://www.remingtonle.com

In my experience, a good many "police" guns that are being sold are NOT real Police guns, but are actually Express Models.

Some of this is false advertising, some of is that many people just seem to think any short barreled 870 is a "Police" gun.

In other words, is this REALLY a Police gun, and if it is, is it a battered and abused Police gun that's been cleaned up and made to look good.

On the Remington LE web site take a look at the 870 MAX, the #4449, and the #4971.

The new MAX is expensive.
The 4449 has about everything except the light and the side saddle.
The 4971 has about everything you want except the side saddle.

You can get the model you want by having a Remington FFL Dealer special order it for you.
There also a supplier named Hoplite that advertises in The Shotgun News.

For LESS than that?! that's awesome. I definately need to check it out. Sounds like the 4971 is what I want, depending on how much cheaper the 4449 is. It is an actual police gun, says Police Magnum on the side.

I think I might actually go with the 4449 instead because I want the 9v surefire instead of the 6v.

"For LESS than that?! "

Your results may vary.
Some local dealers try to scalp you by charging full list price and then some.

It pays to shop around.

If you *know* that you are going to get a surefire light mount then that is an excellent deal. Even excluding the other accessories the gun and mount/light alone are worth close to what he is asking.

On the other hand, its all waisted money if they are accessories that you dont want. If you have played with shotguns before and know that this is what you want then its a good deal. If you havent, then you might as well start fresh and end up with *exactly* what you want.
