Newbie with a Garand Malfunction

I have a garand I used to shoot in DCM matches before I realized I was either a lousy shot or the rifle was just too pooped, now I do desert plinking with my boys.
Occasionally, around the 4th or 5th shot in the clip, it will spontaneously try to eject the clip with the remaining rounds.. it doesnt come all the way out resulting in a jam.. anyone have an idea on what I should look for?

The first two parts I would check are the clip latch and the clip latch spring.

If those check to be OK, try the operating rod catch and the bullet guide.

If you have access to a working rifle, try swapping those parts to see if it works.
