Have been tumbling my first set of 45ACP cases for 2.5 hours in Lyman Turbo Tumbler with new Lyman corncob green media and a little Flitz tumbler additive.

Question 1: The case exteriors have polished nicely and are almost clean. The insides are not so clean. Should I expect the insides to become completely clean before I stop?

Question 2: Inspecting the cases (these are once fired factory brass of various manufacturers), every case has the "indent" on the right edge as shown below. They've all been fired from either a Colt 1991A1 or a Taurus 1911. Is this normal or a problem? And what's causing it?

Thanks.

No, the inside of a case will never come clean in a tumbler once it get packed full of media.

Because there can be no movement of the media inside the case once it is packed full.

BTW: you might not have needed to add any Nu-Finish to the Lyman treated media.
Looks like yours it too wet now and sticking around the primer pockets and not vibrating like it should.
Leave the lid off the tumbler for a day and let it dry out.

It is already treated with all it needs to do a great job.
That's why it is green instead of untreated corncob color.

Save the Nu-Finish for untreated media, or after your Lyman media wears slick and won't polish any longer.

The bend in the case rim is very likely being being caused by the Taurus 1911.
They seem to come from the factory with the that defect / feature milled into the breech face.

Thanks RCModel. Will stop adding Flitz until it's needed. Interestingly, tumbling wasn't covered in my "reloading" course.

Any ideas on the brass ding? I'm guessing it's an extractor ding since it's present on brass from both guns?

The ding on the edge of the case head is from the extractor, It doesn't hurt anything. Some of my cases do that and others don't but im not really sure why.
