Newer rifle Shooter, How is my accuracy?

Went shooting the other evening taking a 10/22..I have only shot the rifle 25 yards and did pretty well. So I decided to shoot 100 yards with stock open sights and was knocking down the steel 4"x6" silloettes down.

I was pretty shocked to say the least.
But is that decent shooting for a farily new rifle shooter? I was using the wooden bench to support my elbow to stabilize the gun.

your shooting is great!
It is your spelling that is troubling

Jerk..:) Just kidding..I get ahead of myself and dont spell check..

I downloaded firefox and I get the squiggly red lines when I'm not spelling gud!

I never knew firefox did that. It must be the new version, cuz I used to use FF all the time but IE is faster so I have been using that lately. But now that i know.... I am going back to Mozilla!!

.22LR at 100 yards.

Your shooting is fine. Better than some I've seen at the range I frequent. When you factor in a light bullet (36 or 40 grain), any wind (even a little can blow around a .22) and bullet drop (about 6 inches @ 100yd) and a semi auto with iron sights, it's pretty good. Sounds like you're getting a good grasp on the fundamentals of trigger management for a new shooter.

Since you now know the rifle is capable of at least 4 MOA (minute of angle, aprox. 1" at 100yd), shoot some bullseyes and see how tight that bangstick will actually get. Rifles are interesting, accurate rifles are more interesting.
