Now if we could only vast majority of shooters who have no clue what the Internet is and even if they did wouldn't be caught dead at CNN's website to vote.

Clarify for others:

The "Quick Vote" is located on the extreme right-hand side of the CNN splash-page, approxiamtely 3/4 of the way down.

No need to post a link, it is on the main page, www.cnn.com. Like others have said, it is on the right, scroll down to just below where you see the link to local weather.

I just voted, and the results are at 57/43 in favor of "no." The abcnews pole is at 69/28 against linking the event to a need for further gun control.

Now's the time to conduct another stupid poll??

Sent the following email to CNN, where it will be summarily ignored, I am quite sure...

In the wake of the Virginia Tech tragedy, I found your poll "Do you believe gun-control laws are an effective way to curb violence?" to be in extremely poor taste.

The emotional aftermath of such senseless murders (NOT killings) is not the time for you to stir up political debate with meaningless, slanted polls.

Why not take a day off from your anti-gun, anti-freedom agendas and let the American public mourn in peace!?!?!

The American media is just a scummy business of social(ist) engineering.

Voted. These types of polls are going to sprout up everywhere. Sane people know that gun controls only work on law abiding citizens. Mike

ABCs poll on gun control.

........asks, in light of the VA Tech shootings, if stricter gun control is not necessary.

Right now, (9 AM, CST), 40,820 say no, no more gun control.

16,554 say yes, more gun control is needed.

These figures contradict CNN's poll.
