Next Gun Purchase and Why?

I'm looking for 2 new stripped lowers, ordering CMP Garand with christmas bonus, and going to get a hunting rifle for my girlfriend as this year will be her first year (2009) coming up. The receivers will be for 2 new 6.8 uppers I've ordered. Then I'll probably one more M1A or something TACTIcool. I had put a Smith 340 in layaway before Obama got elected, so now I think the revolvers can wait, I'll just get something else instead.

I currently own my first two firearms (I just purchased them about 2 weeks ago.), a Ruger MKII stainless Target model, and 1943 Mosin Nagant M91/30.

My next purchase as a newbie to gun ownership will be a .22 rimfire rifle, probably a Savage MKII. I'm already ahead of myself with the Mosin. I need to stick with .22 until I improve my skills.

I have a CZ 550 .308 walnut Varmint in .308 on order. Should be here next week. I think you have the bases pretty well covered with your shotgun, pistol, and rimfire rifle. Personally, I would go for the .308. It will put meat on the table if crunch times ever hits us. Personally, I don't think we will see any bans in the next two years. I think if you wait a year you will be able to buy a very nice little-used battle rifle at a much better price than current prices. However,since I own several battle rifles, I can afford to be wrong.
