Looks like I am going to have a bit of money to burn in the near future, between 1-1.5K. Since my shooting budget for the past year has been practically zero, and I have been trading away all my excess stuff for ammo and reloading supplies so I can keep shooting, I am itching to buy myself a new gun toy.

My interests are focused towards precision and practical shooting, but I like a little bit of everything.

My self/home defense needs are covered, various pistols, M500, AR and AK.

I like 1911s, but have 3, and all I'm missing is a really nice Ed Brown or Les Baer, which is above the budget.

I am finding myself shooting more and more .22. I have a .22 1911 slide but I don't have a dedicated .22 pistol. I really like the Ruger MkIII and 22/45. I also want a single action .22lr revolver.

I don't do much hunting, I have plenty of .22s and a .17 for small game. I have a pre-64 Win94 for deer, and also have hunted with my Garand. I'd like to take my .308 MAS-49/56 out too.

I like to collect WWI and WWII guns. I have a fair number passed down to me, some bringbacks. I have a Garand and Enfield, would eventually like to get a Mauser. I have a C&R so I will pick up a Mosin and an Arisaka whenever I get around to it. I also would love a 1918-vintage 1911 to go with my bringback 1918 Luger.

I really like long range shooting, my only guns that really fit that category are a custom Remington 700 in 30-06 and a DPMS LR-260. I'd like to get a custom built lightweight bolt action .260, but gun + scope will well exceed my budget. I also need better glass on the Rem 700.

I also really want to take the NFA plunge, looking at getting an Osprey .45 or a TiRant .45. Leaning towards the Osprey.

For the past few years I've really been pining for a pistol caliber AR carbine. I'm planning on building one in .45 that feeds out of UZI or grease gun magazines.

Lastly I'm looking to upgrade my reloading setup. I have 2 single stage presses but want to go to a progressive press that can handle rifle calibers, either a Hornady LnL or a Dillon 650.

So there you have it, my wide and wandering gun lusts. I need help deciding! :banghead:

I'd vote for a suppressor. I've heard great things about both the Osprey and the TiRant. I might go for one in 9mm as they're a tad bit quieter, but .45s are nice too!

On the other hand, a SBR AR or AK would be a fun gun as well.

The pistol carbine was planned on eventually being SBR'd. Any issues with building it as a AR pistol, then putting a stock on it after getting the tax stamp?

I would get a Lyman T-Mag Turret Press which will increase your production and load every rifle round you have. Then I'd save for one high end 1911.

S&W 41 or an older High Std Victor would be top choices, next a Buckmark or Ruger MKII. Regards,

Nail

All of the WW2 bolt rifles have been going up in value out of all proportion to common sense. Example: the Yugo 24/47, a fine short Mauser, has gone up from 137 two years ago to 210 now from the same vendor. Even the Mosins are going up and German rifles that are not junk and Enfields in the same class have climbed. The Japanese Arisakas will follow, I think, because the values for one in good shape and one in good shape with an unground "mum" will be come closer. Otherwise, put the money into reloading gear.

Ruger Bearcat in blue or stainless would fill the SA .22 bill.Any of the Ruger autos are good. There's at least 300 variations to choose from.
