Greetings,
I am looking to get a new fun plinking/emergency defensive long arm. I have narrowed the choices down to either a Auto-Ordnance/Kahr M1C Thompson or a Stag Arms Stag-15L (3L). The Thompson is the aluminum framed version, so it weights 8 pounds, not 13, and has a 16" barrel. The Stag is the only left handed AR type around (I am a lefty). This version is an "M-4" type, except it has front rail instead of the fixed sight. I would have to buy a scope/dot sight, plus detachable front and rear open sights. I won't buy a version with a fixed forward sight.
Thompson Pros- Mega cool, ammo cheap, good short range stopping power, low recoil/noise, lower $$$
Cons- Right Hand Set-up, not long range, fairly bulky
Stag Pros- Still kinda cool, left hand set-up, good stopping power at all normal ranges, cheap mags available everywhere, can be more compact
Cons- Very loud/flashy, more $$$ to get full set-up
Which one would you buy and why?
Thanks,
Hunter
