Nice looking revo, or pimptasticly ulgy?

A classy piece or pimptastic eyesore?

Exactly as the title says. It's gained some strange appeal to me, not sure why though.

So what's the verdict?

I guess it's kind of obvious what my vote is since I started the thread. Definitely a gun that should only be shot with one's "strong hand".

British and other double-rifles, intended to be used in hunting dangerous game, often had gold-plated lockwork because it protected the parts from rust, and also was self-lubricating.

So if the practice was/is good enough for the highest quality rifles, that are sometimes used in a sticky situation it's good enough for me. I wouldn't consider it to be a BBQ gun unless it was fitted out with optional pearl stocks.

There's not an option in your poll for me. I won't say gold has no place on a revolver but a Taurus with gold parts? Pimptastic.

I have no idea why, because it is the opposite of what I usually like, but I have always liked and wanted one of those (in blued).

I don't care for any of the gold package Tauri.
This one is no exception. There's something decidedly urban chic about it that clashes with my rural pragmatism.
And, I believe that simple beauty is the best kind.

However, I did have to use a gold package 9mm Taurus to put a dog down once. They still function, so mind your manners when you want to make fun of one of them. They're still firearms. :)

Certainly no different, or worse, than the pink gripped S&W J-framed guns, meant for those who like that color. S&W makes at least 4 models with pink grips - I would rather have a little gold on a gun, than pink, but that's me.

That Taurus comes in a bunch of different materials and finishes, whichever one a person likes is fine by me.

The blued version actually looks pretty decent in person.

My favorite FFL and I still call 'em pimp guns.

Depends on your occupation... if you are the son of the coup-king of Liberia, or you are making a rap video, then perhaps it has its place.

if you are the son of the coup-king of Liberia

No, no, no, ur doin it rong.

Two bit dictators have their pistols entirely gold plated, not just a few parts.

I say NO, but not because of the gold. It's because of the reputation.
+1

Plus, it is normal to put a gold bead on a front sight. Unless the purpose is solely for appearance, to put gold elsewhere and ignore the front sight seems . . . wrong (nbut it should be a bead).

I voted not a chance-I wouldn't want something like that but hey if that what your into thats ok. My wife has one of the little Taurus 85's-I haven't shot it much but it has always went bang when the trigger was pulled. It never bothered me that the old Marlin 30-30 I had years ago had a gold trigger. If you want it & can afford it go for it

Not for me. But I'm not Obama, so don't know what's right for everybody.

Your money, if ya like it, buy it.
