I was just wondering what you fellas focus on with gun buys.

Over the Years I have owned hundreds of different guns. But for the last decade or so I have focused on 1911 pattern pistols and USGI Mil-Surp WW1 through the Korean war.

Not sure why I settled on these but I think its because nice examples of these guns are available for prices most of us can afford.

Also if I get a urge to buy a new Mil-surp gun I can find one worth having with out to long a search!

What say you? Are you a niche collector or one of those eclectic types?

Oh yeah....pics are welcome!

Showing those was not nice.

Right now I am not focusing on any one thing. I want to get one of each of what I consider the basics.

1 Semi auto handgun
1 revolver
1 rimfire handgun
1 semi auto rifle
1 bolt action
1 shotgun
1 rimfire long gun

Now, I break these down even more to certain types in each of the main categories. Such as under semi auto pistol, one 1911, one DA/SA, 1 DAO, and so on.

So I have a lot more buying to do before I get to adding multiples of those examples. I have cheated because I have 2 bolt actions and 2 semi auto rifles.

My small family:

Small but nice DWS117. I don't see a gun in that group I would not like to shoot. Those rubber finger position grips on the 1911 are a Abomination in the eyes of GOD, but all the guns are nice. :D

I totally agree about the looks of the grips. This is a case of function over style. They just feel good to me. Thay are indeed fugly

Mostly 1911s, Glocks, Mossbergs, and ARs. I have a few O/U shotguns and stainless revolvers to round out the collection. I fall into the "whatever the heck I want" category. I feel I've been missing something by not participating in the Milsurp category, so I'll probably buy a few of the "must haves" in that category soon: SKS, 8mm Mauser, K31, Mk1, etc.

I am mostly in the "anything that catches my eye" but I have been known to search out a specific item from time to time.

Variety is the spice of life. I like a lot of differant, particularly unusual, actions and calibers.

I try to find things that will fill a useful purpose and try to sell redundant items to get new and intersting wares.

Hey Tamara,

How about a picture of those S&Ws with some Battle rifle back ground. Come on... ya know you want too....... :D

Anything I feel provides something I don't already have. Once I get that done. I may move onto specific guns.

BigJim ... nice indeed ... 2 M1 carbines I think I spied on right of pic #1.

What is that device holding your 1911's so nice in rank and file??

I have posted my stuff too many times - it'll bore you.... I did post three pics recently on a thread dealing with the need to have to put the guns in a safe.

What I buy can not be defined by a single choice. I prefer auto loading pistols of all types, but also like my C&R stuff a lot too, anything with a history gets a second look, 1911s usually get eye balled too. Etc etc.

Colts.

Esp. Pre-war models.

I have other guns, but those are my faves in American Gun Makers.
