Nickel Finish 1911

I've decided that I am looking for a gun with a nickel finish. I'd prefer it to be a 1911 platform but may also consider other designs. I'd prefer it to be 45acp but I would accept anything in between 380acp to 45acp. The colt 38 super in nickel is what turned me on to this, I need something all metal and shiny. I'm not willing to spend anymore than $700.

I'm stuck now because I don't know who makes guns with a nickel finish and I have searched and searched and not come across too many options. Some people have recommended rock island, but there's not a lot info about them so it would be hard for me to track one down. If you know of any models that meet my criteria, please let me know. Thanks.

It's not hard at all to track down a rock. Try gunbroker.com. I have a few and they're reliable well made pistols and the nikel 38super I have is just purty. Smith makes a nickel 1911 too but it's a bit out of your price range. If you want a nickel 1911 find a rock.

The Rock Islands are good looking and I have not read anything bad about them. Priced at about $450.-$500. you wouldn't lose much if you didn't like it and sold it.

I don't know that you'd ever find a poished nickel rock at that price. I gave $700 for mine and it was the only one I could find. They're out there in 45acp though a bit cheaper and more prevailant.

If you put down your vices for a month and accumulate another 300 dollars you can get a silver Colt Commander for a thousand retail or a little less.

That is what I almost did. But wife set the limit so the M&P Won out.

There are 2 RIA's in NIckel finish on GB right now. Don't know on their ending times though.
