Night Sight Advice

I don't use night sights, I have Warren Tactical's and practice shooting in low light situations.

Sometimes I don't even use the sights :what:

Where the night sights are truly, amazingly useful is in less than perfect light - it's not about being able to see sights but not the target for why I have them on defensive purpose guns, but rather so I can actually use the sights in a shadowy, less than floodlit area.

I do not want to waste valuable time responding to a potential threat or issues using some 'requires activation' paint, either - if you're going to bother with night sights, don't buy toys.

Over the life of the vials, you're talking about $10 or so a year, which is a bargain should you ever actually need to use them.

I have XS Big Dots and a Streamlight TLR2 (light + laser) on my Glock 22, and a Surefire 6P LED sitting next to it. It's my primary HD gun, so I want all my bases covered.

Just buy a clapper, you can light up the whole room wit one clap, lol

I have a GREAT light from SIG that fits on the gun, and which I keep on the gun when it's in the safe and available for home defense. It has a light, a strobe, and an independent laser. The strobe is EXTREMELY disorienting for anyone, especially someone in the dark, who happens to stare at it even for a small moment. I absolutely would NOT shoot at someone in the dark who cannot be identified unless they are actually shooting themselves.

As an update, it happens that my P220 Sport has "special" sights which are higher than normal, and as such, Trijicon has no solution for sighting. Currently, the gun is in the possession of a local gunsmith who is investigating either engineering a solution by drilling and placing tritium into the existing sights, or finding a set of night sights that'll work with my gun. Will let you all know what happens.
