Alright guys (and you lovely, lovely ladies.)

I'm thinking about getting some tritiums for the ol' XD 45 compact and my Glock 19. So far, what's seemed to be my favorite is the XS sight system-you know, dot the 'i.'
Does anyone have anything that they prefer? I had the 3-dot greens on my 1911 and didn't like it so much-having 3 green dots at night meant I had to wiggle the nose of my pistol to see which was which. I ended up tossing the factory rear back on and just going with the front dot, which I actually really liked.
How about the oranges in back, green up front? Any experience with that?

Thanks for the help!

I have some Meprolites on my Glock 26 that are green in front and orange in the back. They work great so far... you just have to get used to the rears being less bright than the front... again, that helps distinguish between front and rear.

I have green F/ orange R on a SIG.

It's an O.K. set-up I guess.

But I question the need for rear dots at all.

At SD ranges, if you put the front dot on the target and squeeze, you are going to hit it!

The other thing is, any color other then green or yellow will not last as long.

Trijacon for instance, warranty's green and yellow for 12 years, orange for 5 years.

You might like the yellow/green combo better than the orange/green.

The yellow is a good bit brighter than the orange, at least IME, but still more subdued than the green. This will give you the brightest possible color combo other than green/green, and will still help you to focus on the front sight since it is still a little brighter than the yellow rears.

JMHO, but honestly, as long as you can see all of your dots, or at least the front one, it doesn't really make a huge difference.

I have both Trijicons and Tru Glo TFO's

The Trijicons are installed on my Beretta PX4 and PX4sc and the TFO's are installed on my XD45c and XD9sc. Both products are excellent. IMO the Trijicons are a better in daylight as the white outline of tritium sight is easier to pick up. Both Trijicons and TFO's are superb in low or no light situations.
