Nighthawk-Korth partnership

A question about Nighthawk/Korth revolvers: Just saw the latest mag. ad about their partnership with Korth. So I looked up their website and was glad I was sitting down when I saw the prices. The Mongoose .357 Mag goes for $3700. But then I saw that shiny addition to the muzzle of the barrel, and I simply cannot imagine what it is. To protect some threads? Why would it be threaded? A silencer is worthless on a revolver, and a 6" barrelled one (like a GP100) is so heavy as to make a compensator unnecessary, besides being probably useless. Anyone have any thoughts or knowledge about that shiny ring?

It's not a thread protector. They have a two-piece tensioned barrel. Like a Dan Wesson but not readily removable.
