To all who care to catch it, there is a town hall meeting on nightline tonight - discussion being should we go to war or not.

very scary thought processes going on by the antiwar side on why we should not use force, and just give the UN more time to talk, how biological weapons are "tactical battle field" weapons and could never be used against civilians. A democratic congresswoman from Il. tried to ask why the current administration thought hussain possesed weapons of mass destruction, and why the US should go after him now, and got shot down by a quote from the pro side that the US was going after hussain because the US knew hussain had used WOMD aginst his own people, etc. and that that was why planes had just been ordered to attack the iraqi army - words uttered by "president" clinton just before he ordered the attacks in the last war.

a kurdish immigrant asked why shouldn't someone who had killed his cousin as well as 1.5 million of his people be considered an evil man and why souldn't anything be done about him, and was given the reply by the antis was basically evil was only in the eyes of the one calling the other person evil ????

they way these people think is why we will get attacked by terrorist again.....

updated commnets from the show

from james woosley - former cia director -
asked the antiwar crowd who would stand up and take responsibility if we wait, say 6 months, and iraq weaponizes a biological agent and uses it. Koppel fired back that that was hypothetical, and woosley basically says that there are those who know that it is happening now.

sen. mccain - when asked about why go to war now, slammed the french - who's ambassador was in the audience - by saying he had no confidence that the french would agree to do anything about iraq even if it were proven they were not in compliance.

koppel - closing commnets - that by next week we will be at war with iraq, and that it will be seen in realtime with the advancements in satelites and technology since the last war, and more specifically, because the bush administration is open and willing to let the information be known.
